I will now share what i think is the most ridiculous thing i have to pass through here.
As you may know, i live in brazil and here the board gaming hobby is quite a luxurious one. There are many gamers around, and many would like board games, but the hobby just didn't get too much apart from monopoly and War.
The thing is, the price just get too much...ridiculous. Let's use my engineer High calculus knowledge:
3,2 Brazil Real(R$1,00) = 1 Dolar(U$1.00)
I found that most games have a U$30.00 range, most being able to find with amazon amazing prices at even 20. Still, lets say 30. Simple math, 30*3,2= R$96! that's more than 1/10 of a minimum wage , i'm not actually sure of US standards, but this is too much here as you pay half your salary in taxes just so you can pay more taxes later, sigh...
anyway, that's 96...well, that's not so simple, that is just a coin conversion, do you know how much that game costs here?
around 250, sometimes more. you know how much is R$250? U$80.00, would you pay 80 on smash up? Or maybe Tash-kalar... anyway, you see how over priced this is right?
So i tried to buy it overseas, how?i buy it on amazon, it get send to a company that will send the package to me. the game being 30, let's say without shipping to the company, and the company will charge me a minimum of 30 as well...thats 60 dolars, R$200!!!!
it's indeed cheaper than here! but still, it's a hell of a headache, at least a month of waiting to not have support of any help of any sort. But wait...There is a chance that when the package arrives, he will be taxed by at least 50%!!! so i'll have to pay R$300 for my game :) sound good?
simple question, would you pay a hundred bucks for smash up?
